Jake and Amos Lime Pickles are made with a process that is very similar to how the Pennsylvania Dutch made them. The "lime" used in the process of these pickles is a food grade version of what was used for making white-wash, plaster and spreading on the fields. The result is a very crisp, green pickle with a delightfully dry, sweet balance.

**Manufactured in a facility that handles, wheat, soy, dairy, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts.

Cucumbers, Sugar, Water, Vinegar, Spices, Salt, Trace Amounts of Lime, Turmeric, FD&C Yellow 5, FD&C Blue 1 and Bisulfate of Soda.

    Awesome “Homemade” Pickles

Posted by Jim on Feb 10th 2026

I’ve searched for decades to find pickles like my mom used to make but unable to find them until now. These are crisp and have just the right spices and uses lime just like my mom.

    Price, Taste and Great Shipping

Posted by Jim on Nov 27th 2025

These pickles are the ONLY pickles that tasted like my mom's EXACTLY. They are expensive at all outlet stores EXCEPT CountryMax. I have turned others on to this item and the incredible price. And the shipping staff at CountryMax should get an award. They were so well packed and doubled wrapped and taped so well, I could have dropped them from a 10 story building and they would not have broken. Excellent shipping department!

    Lime pickles

Posted by Kathryn on Aug 6th 2025

I’ve made these in years past but recently moved and gave about a dozen jars to my daughter. She and I both love them. But since moving to Alabama I gave up all my canning supplies thinking I would no longer need them. Then my husband and myself decided we wanted a Braunschweiger sandwich, which we always used the lime pickles for. No one in this area sells them so the hunt was on, thank goodness, these were as close to the ones I canned, so thank you so much. For still making them available.

Reminiscent of icicle pickles from Ontario province. Possibly from the same German roots as the PA source.

Wonderful snap in flavour and texture. Sweet and tangy at the same time.
